Cameron Yeary

Born in Dallas, Texas, early in 1980, Cameron Yeary has been involved with stage lighting since he was 12 years old.

Cameron started working with his father on the lighting for local churches but soon had his first professional gig at the tender age of 14.

Upon graduating from school, Cameron went to work for local stage lighting supplier Gemini Stage Lighting as a show electrician and programmer. At Gemini, Cameron saw first hand the process of putting together large-scale corporate shows and special events. As well as prepping hundreds of shows in the Gemini shops and spending many hours on-site, Cameron’s time at Gemini also included meeting and working with John Ingram and Greg Cohen of UVLD.

Cameron was laid off from Gemini Stage Lighting after September 11th 2001, prompting him to embark on a freelance career. In the extremely challenging freelance environment post 9/11, Cameron started to pick up corporate work through Alford Media, Showcrafters and the Excitement Technology Group. During this time, Cameron also started Portal Design Services, a pre-visualization company based in Dallas. Although he is no longer involved in the day-to-day running of Portal Design Services, it continues to be one of the major pre-visualization companies in North America.

After a chance meeting with Greg Cohen while working at the New York Auto Show in 2002, Cameron was asked if he would like to program a show for John Ingram in Dallas. For the next two years Cameron would spend half of his year working as a programmer or associate designer for one or more of UVLD’s partners. Cameron was invited to become the youngest design partner at UVLD in 2004.

Cameron has programmed consoles on shows for a FedEx, Cisco Systems, Benicar, Procter and Gamble, Subaru, Los Tigres Del Norte, Mary Kay, the Dallas Christmas Festival at Prestonwood Baptist Church, Mentor Graphics and Glaxo Smith Kline. He has also designed shows and events such as the Garland 4th of July Spectacular in Lewisville, Irving’s 100th Anniversary Celebration, Lake Cities Ballet production of The Nutcracker, Villhermosa - Mexico’s State Fair Spectacular, Purgatory Club in Dallas, Kilgore Rangerettes 2004 Spectacular, 2004 Zenfestival in Dallas, Addison Park Opening, Dallas Stars Season Opener, Veritas Sales Meeting, EDS Sales Meeting and has been the associate designer on the Dallas Christmas Festival for several years.

Cameron lives in Carrollton, Texas, and loves to snowboard and wreck motorcycles. A big movie and music buff, Cameron is also always on the lookout for new and cooler electronic toys.
