UVLD has always been on the cutting edge of technology.  We’re proud to have been among the first to design extensive moving light systems for corporate productions and have been involved in controller and systems innovation throughout the industry.

In this vein, we consider the use of media servers as part of our core competency.  We’ve used servers in applications ranging from controlling the simplest LED products, to integrating systems that build exponentially on HD video resolution.  Clients often ask us to create or implement backgrounds that aren’t easily achievable with competing technologies; we have an expanding inventory of stock and custom video assets to accomplish this.

Of course, every project requires its own solution; our methodology, however, remains consistent.  We listen to our clients’ needs and suggest the appropriate technology rather than automatically deploy the latest piece of gear.   We are all designers first and geeks second. We’re technologically independent, too.  Although we often rely on the same brands of media servers and video gear, we own none of it, so we're free to explore new options as needed.

The predominance of media servers in shows today has prompted us to create a position called the visual media developer, a professional with a strong programming background and an eye for both technological innovation and aesthetic requirements.  Our visual media developers talk the talk and walk the walk -- they understand that our clients’ needs always come before the cutting edge, although they often go hand in hand to deliver a successful production.

UVLD is able to accommodate projects at all due to our aggressive investment in stock video footage.  This repertoire reduces or eliminates the need for clients to purchase backgrounds and animations.  This is especially valuable to low-resolution projects where we've often found that having a large selection of options on site is the most successful way to get the best media on the screen as quickly as possible.
