Who We Are

More than any other asset, our single greatest resource is our people. Our ten designers come from diverse backgrounds and live in different parts of the United States. Our firm was founded on the principle of strength in numbers, and UVLD strives to make this principle as equally relevant to our clients as it is to each of us.

  • John Ingram is an Emmy award-winning lighting designer and is regarded as one of the pre-eminent lighting designers in the world of corporate theatre. John designs a number of productions each year himself and is involved in the layout or budgeting of almost all of UVLD’s projects. John won Emmy awards for lighting NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center in 1999 and 2000. John lives on a farm in rural Virginia.

  • Gregory Cohen has a strong theatrical background and has worked extensively as a lighting designer both off-Broadway and abroad. Greg, who still does the occasional theatrical project, supervises and designs many of UVLD’s large-scale projects. Greg lives in New York.

  • Gregory Norgeot is a Massachusetts-based lighting designer who also comes from the theatre. Greg specializes in managing multi-venue events and also designs many of UVLD’s larger projects. During the summer months, Greg can be found running the Ice Cream Café, a popular Cape Cod hotspot.

  • Laura Perlman collaborates on a number of UVLD’s corporate projects. In addition to designing lighting for the corporate world, Laura designs several operas and theatre pieces each year. Laura lives in Indianapolis.

  • David Rees, as well as being a production electrician for Broadway shows, is also a lighting designer in his own right. David’s experience in multiple disciplines and the entire production process makes him an ideal project supervisor on UVLD’s larger projects. David lives in Utah, which is a surprise to himself and his friends.

  • Nancy Shaw has a strong background as a production electrician. Nancy also designs a number of shows herself and acts as a co-designer on UVLD’s large multi-venue projects. Nancy is based in Orlando.

  • Maura Sheridan manages UVLD’s day-to-day operations and also oversees the drafting, bidding and scheduling of projects. Maura’s lighting design background gives her added insight when coordinating meetings with clients and conducting site surveys. Maura lives in New York.

  • Andy Henry is a 20-year industry veteran whose history encompasses the worlds of corporate lighting, theatre, dance and opera. He works closely with art and stage directors, technicians and road crews, and is well-rounded in aesthetics, movement and rigging. Andy lives in Connecticut with his wife and three children.

  • Cameron Yeary specializes in console programming and pre-visualization when he is not lighting corporate theatre, church productions or concert tours. The founder of Portal Design Services, a Dallas based pre-visualization services provider, Cameron’s grasp of new technologies as well as his outstanding design skills make him a valuable resource to UVLD. Cameron lives in Texas.

  • Paul Sharwell is based in Park City, UT. He brings an unrivaled background as a programmer to his work as a designer. His past projects include the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, Christmas in Rockefeller Center, as well as multiple television awards shows.
